{"id":78,"date":"2014-04-01T09:19:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-01T08:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.christinemaigne.fr\/?page_id=78"},"modified":"2015-07-28T12:38:59","modified_gmt":"2015-07-28T11:38:59","slug":"bio","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.christinemaigne.fr\/?page_id=78","title":{"rendered":"Biography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Christine Maigne questionne les rapports paradoxaux que peuvent entretenir le naturel et l\u2019artificiel \u00e0 travers des r\u00e9alisations d\u2019\u00e9chelles monumentales ou plus intimes.\u00a0 C\u2019est \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, o\u00f9 elle a v\u00e9cu en 1999, qu\u2019elle r\u00e9alise avec la Galerie Vox son premier projet <i>in situ<\/i> de grande ampleur, <i>Le potager<\/i> (installation \u00e9volutive dans la neige) qui sera suivi de l\u2019exposition <i>Le\u00e7on de jardinage<\/i> \u00e0 Articule (Montr\u00e9al, 2000). Ses fictions de pousses se sont ensuite immisc\u00e9es sous des formes diff\u00e9rentes dans des espaces aux typologies vari\u00e9es.\u00a0 Dans ses <i>Eruptions<\/i> qui englobent tout l\u2019espace int\u00e9rieur des lieux abord\u00e9s, les murs sont sujets \u00e0 d\u2019\u00e9tranges d\u00e9veloppements pileux ( \u00ab\u00a0white cube\u00a0\u00bb de Dare Dare \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, b\u00e2timent historique \u00e0 Chemin d\u2019art Saint-Flour ou usine d\u00e9saffect\u00e9e \u00e0 Saint-Etienne). Elle a cultiv\u00e9 ses <i>Implants<\/i> gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re dans les grands espaces de l\u2019HduSi\u00e8ge de Valenciennes lors d\u2019une r\u00e9sidence-exposition en 2005. Dans l\u2019h\u00f4tel particulier occup\u00e9 par l\u2019Artoth\u00e8que de Caen transform\u00e9 en univers domestique, ce sont les objets et les murs qui r\u00e9v\u00e8lent insidieusement un monde organique latent (<i>R\u00e9manence<\/i> 2010).<\/p>\n<p>Christine Maigne est \u00e9galement l\u2019auteur de plusieurs projets d\u2019art public. Dans <i>Le champ d\u2019exp\u00e9riences<\/i>, toujours visible \u00e0 Anger, le b\u00e9ton se pr\u00eate \u00e0 des m\u00e9tamorphoses organiques (11 \u00ab\u00a0cubes\u00a0\u00bb de b\u00e9ton de 2m60 de cot\u00e9, dans le jardin semi-public de la Maison des Compagnons du devoir, \u0153uvre s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e dans l\u2019ouvrage Peaux de B\u00e9ton, \u00e9ditions Dunod, 2013). Son projet <i>Eclosion<\/i> (1% artistique) occupe le jardin et la cour d\u2019un groupe scolaire en Basse Normandie par des model\u00e9s de terrain ponctu\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments \u00e9mergents en b\u00e9ton blanc. Poursuivant ses r\u00e9alisations environnementales, elle a mis en place en 2012 un projet dans le bassin de r\u00e9tention d\u2019un coll\u00e8ge en Essonne qui fait dialoguer le site et l\u2019eau par la pr\u00e9sence de <i>Cupules<\/i> en b\u00e9ton noir.<\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 ses r\u00e9alisations in situ, elle d\u00e9veloppe \u00e9galement en atelier un travail plus intimiste qui traite <i>in vitro<\/i> des m\u00eames notions de pousses \u00e9l\u00e9mentaires. On y per\u00e7oit, dans une troublante mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, des d\u00e9veloppements ind\u00e9termin\u00e9s (petites pilosit\u00e9s sombres, trous ou cloques) qui se nourrissent du blanc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Christine Maigne questions the paradoxal relations between natural and artificial through monumental or more intimate scale works. In Montreal, where she lived in 1999, she realises her first in situ project with Vox Gallery, The Vegetable Garden, evolutive installation in the snow, followed by the exhibition The Gardening lesson in Articule (Montreal, 2000). Her fictions about sprouting then interfered under different shapes in varied spaces. Her Eruptions (presented in the \u00ab white cube \u00bb of Dare Dare in Montr\u00e9al, and in an historical building in Chemin d\u2019art Saint-Flour or an abandoned factory in Saint-Etienne) encompass the whole inner space of the place, and the walls are subject to strange hairy developments. She reared her Implants thanks to the light of the large spaces of the H in Le Si\u00e8ge de Valenciennes, during a residence-exhibition in 2005. In R\u00e9manence (shown in 2010 in the mansion of L\u2019Arthoth\u00e8que de Caen, transformed in a domestic universe, and more recently at Christian Aubert (Paris), and Plateforme (Paris)), walls and objects insidiously reveal a latent organic world.<\/p>\n<p>Christine Maigne is also the author of several public art projects. Dans Le Champ d\u2019experiences, realised in Angers in 2001, concrete humors organic metamorphosis (11 concrete cubes 260cm tall, in the semi-public garden of La Maison des Compagnons du devoir, work selected in the book Peaux de B\u00e9ton, 2013 publishing by Dunod). Her Eclosion project takes place in the garden and the courtyard of a school in Basse-Normandie with field protrusions punctuated with emerging white concrete elements.
